Stage 24 · Exponential & Logarithmic Functions

24.1.1 Revisiting Integer Powers

24.1 From Roots to Exponents: Completing the Power Operations

Point 1 of 6

24.1.1 Revisiting Integer Powers

Core idea

Multiplying the same number several times is written as a to the n-th power, and a negative exponent just flips it into a reciprocal, written a^n and a^(-n).

Module goal. Building on square roots and integer powers, extend exponents to fractions so every rule of powers becomes one unified system, paving the way for exponential functions
